The Vault is a cheeky little 55-seater cocktail bar, hidden in the basement of London’s oldest whisky shop, Milroy’s of Soho.

Entered via the shop (on Greek Street) through a secret door disguised as a library book shelf, the bar serves up original seasonal cocktails made with home-infused spirits.

Their new cocktail menu is displayed in an electric mix of old books – each cocktail name and it’s ingredients are printed and stuck into alternate pages of the book. Highlights from the menu include low sugar green Detox-Retox, a delicious twist (my favourite) on a pisco sour called Verano 69 (Pisco, blackcurrent, sage, honey, lemon and eggwhite) and more eccentric short glass cocktails. For the more daring there is the Red Rimmer (mescal, jalapeno pepper, agave, grapefruit w/spiced rum).

A selection of craft beers and fine wine is also available, changing seasonally. A private ‘Barrel Room’, shaped as it’s named, with enough space to seat 12 people is tucked away at the back of the Vault.

Soho’s revitalised stalwart promises a high standard of product, knowledge and service, and with its unique offering both in store and at the basement bar, offers a full experience for whisky acionados, cocktail lovers and those curious to discover more. Milroy’s of Soho believes that there is a whisky to suit everyone’s palate and there’s no better place to discover them than at this Soho institution.
